It’s very common for bloggers to go through a phase where they are not able to generate ideas for their blog posts. In blogging it’s important that we post articles continuously to ensure we get the right kind of exposure.
The most common method of generating ideas is to write a blog post about solving problems that people are facing in your niche; you could also generate ideas by referring to the comments posted on your blog. Although these methods do not ensure a continuous flow of ideas, they could be used as a workaround.
A great method to have a continuous flow of blog post ideas is by using a Mind Map. As per Wikipedia, “A mind map is a diagram used to represent words, ideas, tasks, or other items linked to and arranged around a central key word or idea. Mind maps are used to generate, visualize, structure, and classify ideas, and as an aid to studying and organizing information, solving problems, making decisions, and writing”
Here’s an example of my blog posts:
WordPress is one the central theme keyword of this blog
- WordPress Plugin –> Related Posts –> LinkWithin, Outbrain & YAARP
- WordPress Comments –> CommentLuv, Gravatar Images, GASP & Subscribe to Comments
- WordPress SEO –> Importance of Backlinks in SEO & Importance of Keywords in SEO
- WordPress Themes –> Undercon WordPress Theme & Thesis Theme
- WordPress WebHosting
Here you can see that we have used the mind map trick and my main keyword is WordPress and its sub topics are Plugins, Comments, SEO, Themes and Web Hosting. We have further gone down one more sub level to give you a better idea of the same.
This small trick will help you generate unlimited blog post ideas. There are a number of free Mind Mapping Software’s that will help you have visual mind maps easily.
